Early intervention playgroups
KU early intervention playgroups are play-based group programs for children and families, aiming to support the development and wellbeing of both children and their parents/caregivers.
About KU early intervention playgroups
KU early intervention playgroups offer fun, play-based activities for children and families, facilitated by a team that includes a skilled early childhood teacher and experienced educators. These programs aim to support the development and wellbeing of both children and their parents/caregivers.
KU early intervention playgroups aim to:
- support parent/caregiver child relationships in a play-based environment
- empower parents/caregivers with the confidence, skills and knowledge to support their child’s development, wellbeing and learning
- assist children to transition to early childhood education and care and/or school
- support building valuable social and family support networks within the community.
- provide safe and creative spaces for children to learn and explore in a supportive environment
Working together
KU staff work collaboratively with families by providing tools and strategies to help children meet their individual learning goals and to achieve the best outcomes.
Families are supported to:
- understand their child’s individual developmental needs
- identify goals and priorities to support their child to reach their full potential
- increase their confidence and capacity to support their child’s development into everyday routines and activities
- liaise, when appropriate, with other professionals involved in their child’s care and education
- connect with a range of local community supports and programs
