We are excited to announce that KU Children’s Service’s CEO, Chris Legg, was honoured with the Barbara Creaser Memorial Lecture Award today at the ECA Conference in Brisbane.

The Barbara Creaser Memorial Lecture Award is a prestigious recognition given within the early childhood education community in Australia. Named in honour of Barbara Creaser, a respected advocate for early childhood education, this award is presented to individuals who have made significant contributions to the sector.

Barbara Creaser was known for her dedication to improving the quality of early childhood education and care, and she had a profound impact on the development of policies and practices in the sector.

As part of the award, Chris delivered an inspiring award lecture highlighting her long and distinguished career within the Early Childhood Education sector, overcoming imposter syndrome through mentorship and her passion to advocate for children, families, teachers and educators.

KU Children’s Services proudly congratulates Chris Legg for the well-deserved recognition for her meaningful leadership and impact over 45 years in shaping the legacy and future of the ECE sector in Australia.
