KU Wonnayba Children’s Centre in Callaghan has achieved an ‘Exceeding’ rating under the early childhood National Quality Standard.
The centre joins the 84% of KU services that have received an ‘Exceeding’ rating, outstripping the national average of just 33% (Source: Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority).
The rating recognises KU Wonnayba’s commitment to providing high quality early childhood education, and the strong relationships that exist between the centre’s children, families, staff and local community.
“At KU Wonnayba, we have a focus on relationships and wellbeing for children. We strive to build deep, meaningful and respectful relationships with all children and this underpins everything we do,” said KU Wonnayba Director, Brooke Meadows.
“Our educators have undertaken specific training around relationships, such as the Marte Meo approach, which is used in daily interactions with children to support their social development and communication skills.”
“We believe having a relationship-based curriculum is paramount to achieving desired learning outcomes, as children feel confident to play, explore and make discoveries when they feel secure,” said Brooke.
