KU Lance Children’s Centre has been rated in the top 1% of early education services in the country by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).

The centre’s ‘Excellent’ rating under the early education National Quality Standard is a significant achievement and recognises the exemplary program and strong relationships that exist between the centre’s staff, children, families and local community.

“We are very proud to have received the highest possible rating through ACECQA. It’s a wonderful recognition of the hard work and dedication of our team, who are committed towards providing the highest quality early learning environments and programs for children, and the best possible outomes for children and their families,” said KU Lance Director, Donna Morley.

In awarding the ‘Excellent’ rating, ACECQA recognised the exceptional program and environment provided at KU Lance and how this enhances children’s learning and growth, as well as their collaborative partnerships with community organisations.

“At KU Lance, we pride ourselves on the strong connections we have with the local community. We are regularly visited by Aboriginal Elders who share their knowledge, culture, art and language with the children, and we have developed a close relationship with the Barangaroo Authority, which has provided unique learning opportunities for the children including visiting construction sites in Barangaroo and engaging with installations for the Sydney Festival,” said Donna.

In their assessment, ACECQA also acknowledged KU Lance’s commitment to respecting and celebrating culture and diversity, which was on full display during the centre’s celebration of their ‘Excellent’ rating.

“We spent a lovely afternoon celebrating our rating. Aboriginal performer Matthew Doyle opened the event with a Welcome to Country and traditional smoking ceremony, which was followed by speeches. The children, families and staff all had a great time and there was plenty of food, festivities and fun for everyone involved,” said Donna.
