KU Wentworthville Preschool has held a number of activities and events at their centre this week to celebrate Mother’s Day.

The preschool invited mothers and grandmothers to visit the preschool to spend quality time playing and learning with their children and connecting with other families.

“The children really enjoyed having their mothers and grandmothers visit and it was nice to recognise and celebrate the important role that mothers play in the lives of children and the wider community,” said KU Wentworthville Director, Catherine Lloyd.

The mothers also participated in a ‘healthy lunchbox’ workshop presented by a Healthy Lifestyles Officer from Parramatta Council through Active Parramatta.

“The workshop was all about healthy eating and looked at healthy foods, practical ideas for preparing healthy snacks and lunchboxes, and there was a cooking demonstration on how to make tropical popcorn bars,” said Catherine.

“It was a really enjoyable experience for everyone and afterwards we shared a healthy morning tea together. We all appreciated the time we spent with each other and the children and it was a lovely way to celebrate Mother’s Day.”
