KU Isobel Pulsford Preschool has celebrated the 125th anniversary of KU Children’s Services (KU). The preschool recognised this special milestone by supporting a local charity, CCA Eastwood, with their recent food drive.

“The kindness and generosity of the KU Isobel Pulsford community in Epping, helped to fill the shelves at CCA who provide home delivered meals and essential goods to community members” said KU Isobel Pulsford Director, Kelly Slip.

The theme of the 125 years celebration was ‘making a difference through 125 years of social impact and early education’.

“Lockdown in our area, an LGA of concern, was so hard for so many families, so when our local charity CCA reached out and asked for support, the children, staff team and families committed to collecting 125 food items to donate. Donations such as these reinforce the priorities of KU to make a positive social impact. We wanted to do something that embodied our centre philosophy of kindness and our belief that children are active citizens and contributing members of our preschool, the wider community and their world. The children were able to feel a sense of achievement as their collections mounted and also gained an insight into the lives of others in our community who might need our help. The children are hoping our work with CCA encourages others in the community to donate to their future requests for donations,” said Kelly.

“At KU Isobel Pulsford Preschool, we are so proud of our history with KU. The founder of the preschool, Isobel Pulsford, saw an opportunity for providing education and care in Epping over 60 years ago and her legacy lives on in all of us associated with the preschool as we strive to build our relationships with the broader community through social impact.”
