The children at KU Cheltenham Memorial Preschool have been busy playing, exploring and learning in their new sandpit and play area.

The preschool celebrated the opening of their new play area by holding a community event attended by Member for Epping, The Hon Dominic Perrottet MP, KU Children’s Services CEO, Christine Legg, and children, families, staff and trustees from the preschool.

The new play area features a renovated sandpit with a water pump and sandstone landscaping which was funded through the Quality Learning Environments program grant from the NSW Government, as well as new plants and an extended digging patch which was made possible through fundraising from parents.

“We had a lovely afternoon celebrating the opening of our new sandpit and play area with our preschool community,” said KU Cheltenham Director, Michelle Healey.

“Since the renovations, the children have really enjoyed playing in the new sandpit and the addition of the water pump has created a more interesting environment with more possibilities and opportunities to extend the children’s play and learning,” said Michelle.

KU Cheltenham provides quality early childhood education for children aged 3 - 5 years and is currently taking enrolments. For more information, contact the Director, Michelle Healey on 9876 3109.
