Our play-based learning philosophy
KU strongly values the importance of play-based programs. All of our high quality programs are based on current research and are planned by our experienced and qualified early childhood staff.
Play-based programs provide a wide range of active and meaningful experiences that incorporate choice for children, while enabling them to experience many of the organisational elements that are important at school.
The centre operates on the site of The Alfred Hospital and provides a high quality service to meet the needs of The Alfred Hospital staff. Where vacancies exist, places are also available to the community.
The centre has been designed so there is a maximum of 10 children in each group/room with 2 rooms for the youngest children (0-2 year olds) which observe a 1:4 staff to child ratio. A state government funded preschool program is provided.
