Marcia Burgess, Manager, KU Special Education Programs was recently presented with an Achievement Award at the Early Childhood Intervention Association (NSW Chapter) Conference in Woollongong.

It was a wonderful occasion, with the Awards being presented by Special Olympics Paralympian, Louise Savage. Awards were presented to a small number of professionals and organisations who have ‘met the challenge’ in providing high quality services for children with disabilities and their families.

Marcia was nominated by the KU Special Education team who noted that “it is with pride and great admiration that we nominate Marcia for the Achievement Award for the extraordinary things she has always done, and is continuing to do, in ‘meeting the challenge’ of supporting young children with additional needs and their families – not to mention her ongoing support of all members of the team and centre staff.”

KU Children's Services is proud to announce that we have been presented with the Special Achievement Certificate Child Development Award in recognition of making an extraordinary contribution to increase children's opportunities to learn and grow. The awards were sponsored by the NSW Department of Community Services and were part of 2004 Children's Week celebrations.

This Award is a reflection of the wonderful work KU staff carry out on a daily basis.
